A setup guide that already knows what you have done
A new account lands on a full app with no idea which of twenty screens to open first. There is now a Setup guide at the top of the sidebar: a compact list of the next few things worth doing, each linking to the screen you do it on, with a help icon beside every step for the article that explains it.
See all setup steps opens the whole list, grouped the way the work actually runs: your account, take leads, quote and confirm, run events, crew and requests, get paid, follow-ups, Xero, and menus and catering.
It ticks itself off
Nothing here asks you to confirm you did something. Send your first quote and quoting is done. The guide reads what you have actually done, including through a CSV import, and it reads history rather than the present tense: a planner who sent a quote and later deleted it has still been through quoting.
Existing accounts were filled in from the real evidence, dated from when each thing first happened, so nobody with forty Spaces is being told to add their first one.
Say no, not just later
Any step you are never going to do can be marked Not needed, and a whole section can be cleared in one click with All not needed or Mark all as done. Nothing is lost by saying so: Put it back and Put them all back undo either one.
That answer is recorded, because a feature somebody refuses is a different thing from one they mean to get to and never do, and knowing which is which is how we work out what to build next.
You only see groups for the parts of 1pm you can actually reach, so hiding a nav item takes its steps with it, and the labels follow your own wording: an account that renamed Events to jobs reads “Create a job”.
The guide goes away once everything is done or dismissed. To bring it back, use Show the setup guide in the sidebar at the top of your profile, or the same switch at the top of Customise menu in the sidebar.
