Record why a lead was lost, then report on it

A lost lead is only half a lesson if you don’t know why it was lost. Budget? Date taken? Went with the place down the road? The Category field on a lead could always hold that, but it lived in the lead’s details, a click away from where you actually decide a lead is dead.

At the moment you mark it Lost

The Move to Lost box now carries an optional Category field. Your recent categories sit underneath as one-click choices (Unavailable, Budget, Went elsewhere, whatever you use), or type a new one. Leave it alone and the lead keeps the category it already had.

In the Leads report

Reports > Leads can now filter by one or more categories. Tick Budget and Went elsewhere and the headline figures and the table both narrow to those leads, so you can see how many you lost on price this quarter and which forms they came through.

Tick No category to find the leads still missing one, which is the quickest way to tidy up before you read the numbers. Every filter carries through to the CSV export and the printed header.

Reports has the full list of filters.
