Bring your contacts, bookings and leads across from a CSV
Moving to 1pm usually starts with a spreadsheet: an export from your old booking system, a contact list, a pile of leads from a wedding fair. All three can now come across from a CSV, the same way.
Upload, match, preview, import
Upload any CSV with a header row. The columns can be called anything and come in any order. 1pm suggests where each one goes from its name (“Surname”, “Cell phone” and “E-mail address” all land where you’d expect), and you change any it gets wrong. A column can go to a field, a custom field, the notes, or nowhere.
Below the columns is a preview of the import itself. It lists every row with what will happen to it (created, updated, skipped or rejected) and updates as you change a column, so you see a problem before anything is saved.
If you’ll import from the same place again, name your choices and save them. The next file with the same columns is matched for you.
Contacts
When a row matches a contact you already have (on email, then mobile, then name and business), choose whether the file fills in blank fields, replaces what’s there, or is skipped. You can change that for a single row in the preview.
Bookings
On the Events page, choose Import bookings from a CSV. Statuses and room names in your old system’s words are matched to a booking status and a Space, once per value. Each booking’s client is found among your contacts or added as one new contact. Bookings already in 1pm are skipped, so you can import an updated export again. Your Space double-booking rules still apply, nothing is emailed to anyone, and no automation runs.
Leads
Leads > Import works the same way. Each lead type in the file is matched to one of yours, and you pick a lead type for the rows that don’t give one.
Undo
Every import can be undone once, for 7 days. Undo removes what the import added that nobody has touched since, and puts changed contact details back.
Merge the duplicates
An import, a lead form and a busy team between them will leave the same person in your contacts twice. Open the contact you want to keep and click Merge with another contact. Before anything changes you see every detail that differs (you choose which to keep), everything that moves across (bookings, leads, quotes, invoices, request answers, email history), anything that can’t be kept, and every link that stops working. A merge can’t be undone, so the preview is worth reading.
Importing contacts, importing bookings, importing leads and merging contacts cover each in full.
