Registering for an event

If an organiser has sent you a registration link, or you've scanned a QR code that says "Register", this is how you sign yourself up and get your own run of show link. It takes one short form and a quick check of your email.

This article covers what the registration form looks like, what happens after you submit, where your link arrives, and what to do if something doesn't work.

Opening the registration link

The link looks like https://[organiser's site]/join/..., or you may have reached it by scanning a QR code on a sign, flyer, or slide. Open it in any browser, on your phone or a computer.

You'll see the organiser's logo, the event name ("Register for: [Event]"), and sometimes a short note from them with instructions or things to read first. Below that is a short form: first name, surname, and email. That's all that's asked.

You won't see the event timeline, the date, or anyone else's details yet. None of that appears until after you've registered and opened your own link, which is what keeps the event private to the people who actually sign up.

Filling in the form

Enter your first name, surname, and the email address where you want your link sent. Double-check the email: it's where your link goes, and it's the only way you'll get in.

Tap Register. You'll see a "Check your email" confirmation. Your run of show link is not shown on the page on purpose; it's emailed to you instead, so that only the person who controls that inbox can get access. The confirmation shows the address you entered so you can spot a typo, with a "Register again" link if you need to correct it.

Getting your link

Look for an email titled "Your link for [Event]". It contains a button ("View your link") and the link in plain text as a backup. Open it and you're on your personal run of show: a live, mobile-friendly view that updates by itself as the organiser makes changes.

The email can take a minute to arrive. If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder first. If it still hasn't come after a few minutes, the address may have a typo; open the registration link again and register a second time with the correct address.

Save the link once it arrives. Bookmark it, or add it to your phone's home screen, so you can get back to it on the day without digging through your inbox. There's a separate help article on saving the link to your phone.

Registering more than once

If you register again with the same email, you won't create a duplicate. The organiser's system recognises your address and simply re-sends your existing link. So if you lose the email or can't find your link later, just open the registration link and register again with the same email; your link comes back to you.

If you register a second time within a few minutes of the first, the re-send may be held back briefly to avoid flooding your inbox with copies. Give it a little time before trying again.

If you see "Registration closed"

If the page says registration is closed, the organiser has turned the link off, or it has expired. There's nothing wrong on your end. Contact the organiser and ask them for a current registration link, or for your run of show link directly if you've registered before.

What the organiser sees, and your privacy

When you register, the organiser gets your name and email added to their list for the event. That's the only information you hand over through this form. They may later reach out, send you requests, or ask you to RSVP through the same link.

Your run of show link is personal to you. Don't forward it on; if a colleague needs access, point them at the same registration link so they get their own.
