1pm vs Tripleseat.
An honest comparison for anyone looking for a Tripleseat alternative. We make 1pm, so read it knowing that. Everything said about Tripleseat comes from its own website and help centre, checked in October 2026, and the sources are listed at the foot of the page.
The short version
Tripleseat is event management software for restaurants, hotels and venues. It has been trading since 2008 and says more than 20,000 venues use it. Its depth is on the venue side: hotel room blocks and group sales, links to reservation and property systems, floor plans, a venue marketplace and online booking.
1pm is an event booking CRM for event professionals and venues. It covers the same sales path (lead, quote, agreement, deposit, invoice), then runs the day on a live BEO and a live run of show that crew and suppliers open from a private link. It is priced for an independent venue or a small team, and you can sign up and use all of it today.

Where Tripleseat is stronger
- Hotels
- Room blocks, group sales and links to property management systems (PMS) including Opera Cloud, Mews and Cloudbeds. 1pm books function rooms only and connects to no PMS.
- Restaurant reservation systems
- Tripleseat connects to OpenTable, SevenRooms and Tock, so a private event can block the room in the reservation book. 1pm can show another system's busy times from a calendar feed.
- Floor plans
- To-scale 2D plans and 3D walkthroughs the client can work on with you. 1pm has no floor plan tool. You could use a third-party tool.
- Finding you new business
- A venue marketplace listing and Direct Book, where a client books a space online and you approve it. 1pm has neither.
Where 1pm is stronger
- The first reply
- 1pm can check the date is free, build a quote from your price list, attach your brochure and send it, with nobody at a desk. Tripleseat's own material describes a receipt email and an AI draft that a person reviews and sends.
- The day itself
- A live run of show with countdowns, a private link for each crew member and supplier with no login, and a copy that still opens when the wifi drops. We found no run of show feature on Tripleseat's site.
- Price you can read
- $20 or $40 a month, published, against a starting price of $375 per venue per month plus add-ons.
- No sales call
- Sign up, use every feature for 30 days without a card, and decide. There is no demo to book and no setup fee.
- Not only venues
- Tripleseat is sold to venues. 1pm is also built for the planner, caterer, photographer or AV company working in someone else's venue.
- Recipe and plate costing
- On the Hospitality plan a dish links to its recipe and shows plate cost, food cost percentage and margin. We did not find costing on Tripleseat's site.
How to choose
Consider Tripleseat if you run a hotel with beds to block, or a venue that needs floor plans and a marketplace listing. Those are real gaps in 1pm.
Consider 1pm if you are an independent event venue, a restaurant with private function rooms, or an event professional, and what you need is the fastest reply and automated quoting for each lead, and a run of show the whole crew can open.
The quickest test is to put one real booking through 1pm. The trial has every feature switched on, so you will know within a week whether it fits.
